What we need to connect each of your accounts
No technical knowledge required. For each platform below we say what kind of account you need, which permission we ask the platform for, and what that means in plain language. You grant the access — we never ask for your passwords.
The four platforms
Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn are the platforms we connect today. X is added once its API access is confirmed for your account.
- A Facebook Page — not a personal profile — with you as an admin.
- Our app permission pages_manage_posts: this is what lets us publish a post to your Page on your behalf.
- Our app permission pages_read_engagement: this lets us read basic engagement data on your Page.
- We hold the Page token for that Page — it is the key that proves you have authorised us.
- An Instagram business or creator account, linked to that same Facebook Page.
- Our app permission instagram_content_publish: this is what lets us publish to your Instagram account.
- Every post needs a public image — Instagram cannot publish text-only posts. We use the article's featured image.
- Captions cannot carry clickable links, so the article's link goes in your Instagram bio instead. The caption tells readers to look there.
𝕏 X (conditional)
- An X developer app with write access (API v2) — this is what allows posting, rather than only reading.
- X limits how much can be posted through its API by tier (the level of access your app is on). We therefore confirm the tier before activation.
- We will tell you plainly if your app's tier cannot support your posting volume — we do not connect X on a promise.
- A LinkedIn Company Page with you as an admin.
- The OAuth scope w_organization_social: this is the permission that lets us post to your company page on your behalf.
- Posting goes to the company page — never a personal profile.
What we need from you
Three things, and one promise.
- Your website address — so we can read the articles you publish, through your site's feed and content API.
- The accounts above — a Facebook Page with you as admin, an Instagram business/creator account linked to that Page, a LinkedIn company page with you as admin, and (optionally) an X developer app with write access.
- Admin access granted to our app — you approve our app from your own accounts, platform by platform.
One promise: we never ask for your passwords
You grant the access; we never ask for your passwords. Access is given the proper way — through the platforms' own permission screens — and you can revoke it whenever you choose. We do not ask for, store or need your login details for any account.
Why we need each of these
The short version, for a business owner.
Access is permission, not a password
Every platform has its own way of letting an outside app act for you. That is what we ask for — and it is revocable.
Business accounts, not personal ones
Pages and company pages are built for publishing. Personal profiles are not, and we never use them.
Instagram needs an image
That is why your article's featured image matters. It is the post.
X has limits
X caps posting volume by API tier, so we check your tier before we promise anything on X.
Ready when you are
Send us your website and your accounts, and we will confirm exactly what can be connected — before anything is switched on.
